The Defilers (1965)
“The Defilers” is a gritty 1965 film directed by R. Lee Frost. The story revolves around two young men, Carl Walker Jr. and Jameison Marsh, who revel in kidnapping and mistreating attractive young women. Their latest victim is Jane Collins, a naive newcomer to Los Angeles. They imprison her in the dark, damp basement of an abandoned warehouse, subjecting her to their twisted desires. The film delves into themes of misogyny and power dynamics, leading to a tragic climax. "The Defilers" is considered to be the first "roughie," a subgenre that added violence to the sex and nudity when the "nudie cutie" began to lose popularity,
